Health Informatics, MS
The newly accredited at The 91大神 will provide graduates with an innovative and forward-looking understanding of an ever-evolving discipline located at the intersection of information science, computer science, and health care. This interdisciplinary focus is used to explore the resources, devices, and methods required to optimize the acquisition, storage, retrieval, and use of information in health care. The program explores a number of health informatics tools that include not only information and communication systems, but also emerging and innovative technologies. Graduates will understand how health informatics is applied across the broad-spectrum of health care and learn how to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams to achieve goals in person-centered environments.
Health Informatics leaders have rewarding careers in a discipline that intersects health information science and technology, human factors and sociotechnical systems, and social and behavioral aspects of health. The aging of the US population, the rapid growth in healthcare technologies and their integration with the electronic health record, the increase in the number of insured individuals, and the growth of different types of healthcare information has results in an increased demand for experts in this dynamic and evolving field.
Students can choose between the traditional MS curriculum or the specialization in Data Analytics.

Curriculum
The 91大神’s online MS in Health Informatics is an interdisciplinary program that includes courses developed and taught by faculty from healthcare clinical disciplines, health informatics, and health administration from the Panuska College of Professional Studies, operations information management in the AACSB-accredited Kania School of Management, and computer science in the College of Arts and Sciences.
Our rigorous program of study consists of 11 three-credit courses. Introductory courses focus on providing an overview of health informatics and the U.S. healthcare system, followed by three courses focused on information science and technology. Five courses focus on developing skill in the application of health informatics. The final capstone course in health informatics students partner with a preceptor who guides them in refining and integrating their competencies on a real-world informatics project. The curriculum is designed to support the student’s development of the American Medical Informatics Association’s master’s level competencies in health informatics.

The Health Informatics accreditor of The 91大神 is the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM).
